Molchan Marine Sciences provided SeaAway with consulting services in Maritime Security Legislation and training, CONOPS and technology transfer related to a unique fixed floating platform designed to assist shipping companies track cargo and various agencies tasked with interdiction responsibility, time to render an appropriate decision and action, safeguarding critical maritime infrastructure .This seaborne 'choke and scanning point' is known as the Sea Sentinel System. The Sea Sentinels are seaborne habitats sustaining a crew complement of 12 for a period of 15 days in duration. The Sentinels will be strategically positioned and anchored 12-15 nautical miles in the approach channel from the seaside entrance of the port, drawing communications, electrical and logistical support from a portside facility. The Sentinels will also serve as forward flight operation points for various agencies; launch points for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV); Coordination Centers for Search and Rescue (SAR) and salvage operations; and, Weather and Oceanographic stations.
