Project:
Underwater Port Security
Project Year: 2007-2008
Clients: Multiple
Project Description:
Molchan Marine Sciences provided consulting services to multiple clients in the area of underwater ports security. Projects involved bridging the gap between ocean technology manufacturers and ocean technology user communities (ports and shippers). In both cases, Molchan Marine Sciences provide an accurate picture of the underwater port security threat and the implications of these threats to the maritime security and potential technology needs of ships and ports. New technologies were evaluated for specific applications, international maritime security laws related to underwater port security were spelled out, specific ports and harbors were identified as future client contacts and marketing strategies were revealed.
Additionally, Molchan Marine Sciences along with Tactical Defense Concepts is authoring and will be teaching training sessions in Underwater Port Security for working divers in the public safety diving communities.
MAPC and MacTaggart Scott are jointly responsible for building the control box and turning gear (respectively) for DDG-1000 General Dynamics team. Molchan Marine Sciences provided technical writing support for the CONOPS of the Turning Gear.
